The language module

This program has been developed for students who wish to learn the Spanish spoken in Argentina, its history, society and culture. The course fosters the acquisition of Spanish in order to fulfill the needs of students to interact with different purposes: tourism, studies, and business, among others. The educational resources have been selected and designed in order to develop students' grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension as well as their speaking fluency and writing abilities. Students are divided into three levels: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. Classes are taught in groups or individually from Mondays to Fridays. Schedules are set according to students' needs.

The cultural module

Seeks to develop students' Spanish competence through their exposure to the Argentinean culture. Students approach Argentinean customs and traditions through the analysis of texts and images as well as presentations made by renowned Argentineans. These theoretical/practical classes are articulated with guided tours to different museums and institutions that will lead to the completion of the learning process. The places to visit are chosen on the basis of students' profiles, interests and their linguistic needs.

Extracurricular activities

The following activities can be organized upon request outside the program schedule on an additional fee:

Polo lessons
Soccer experience
Traditional shows
Argentinean cuisine.

Getting Around

City buses are known as "colectivos". There are 140 bus lines. The service is very frequent -you will rarely have to wait more than five minutes during the day and companies are required to provide all-night service, with at least one bus every half hour. The standard fare is 1.10, 1.20 or 1.25 "pesos" for journeys within Ciudad de Buenos Aires, paid directly into the machine. Simply say "Uno con diez or uno con veinte or uno con veinticinco, por favor". Bills are not accepted. For complaints or information call toll-free 0800 333 0300.
Trains connecting the northern suburbs with the city center are more modern - and safer - than those of the sourthern lines. Constitución (General Hornos 11) is the main station for services going south; Retiro (Ramos Mejía 1508) is the main station for northbound trains.
Taxis in Buenos Aires are cheap and plentiful. It´s best to restrict yourself to a radio cab or a remise (a licensed mini cab). You are not expected to tip and should receive change even if it amounts to 10 centavos.
