To facilitate student placement
procedure, ICANA offers the Placement On Line (POL)
service. Test items have been selected taking into account
the language objectives of each level of instruction.
To make optimal use of this test, prospective students
should follow these steps: Decide which of the three
macro levels -Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced- as
described below best suits their estimated current proficiency
in the language. Answer the questions corresponding
to the different sublevels within their selected level.
Bear in mind that if their score is over 80% on a certain
sublevel, the system will automatically give them the
chance to move on to the next level. When student does
not reach 80%, that is an indication that student will
most probably is to be registered in the course level
they are working on. Get a printout of the score report
and bring it to ICANA. On site, ICANA staff will evaluate
their oral proficiency. If there is any discrepancy
between the POL results and those of the oral interview,
ICANA admissions staff will suggest best course of action.
