Book Club: American Novels

This September, our Book Club will read The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros' acclaimed coming-of-age novel told through a series of beautifully crafted vignettes.

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros

Through the eyes of Esperanza Cordero, a young Latina girl growing up in a Chicago neighborhood, the novel explores identity, belonging, family, gender, dreams, and the search for a place to call home. Rich in poetic language and cultural insight, it is considered one of the most influential works of contemporary American literature.

An immersive literary experience in English

Join us for a four-week journey into American literature in a welcoming and engaging environment. Each week we'll read one section of the novel and come together to discuss its themes, characters, language, and cultural context.

Our sessions combine close reading, literary analysis, and open conversation, creating a space where participants can exchange ideas, develop critical thinking, and strengthen their English through meaningful discussion.

Whether you're an avid reader or simply looking to reconnect with literature in English, this book club offers a unique opportunity to experience a remarkable novel alongside fellow literature enthusiasts.
